BRIGHTON duo Gus Poyet and Inigo Calderon have both missed out on the League One Manager and Player of the Month awards.

The winners were announced this morning, with Brentford manager Andy Scott taking the managerial award, and Huddersfield’s Anthony Pilkington taking the players title.

Poyet, Manager of the Month for September, was nominated for taking Brighton 8 points clear at the top of League One, with stunning victories over promotion rivals Peterborough and Charlton Athletic.

Calderon was nominated for his part in 4 clean sheets in October, as well as scoring 3 goals in 4 games.

Scott turned things around for Brentford, taking them away from the relegation zone with wins against Peterborough, Charlton and Exeter, as well as taking Premier League, Birmingham City to penalties in the Carling Cup.

Pilkington has impressed by scoring in 5 consecutive games, scoring 6 goals during Huddersfield’s rise to second place.
