However, as the emergency loan deadline approaches, Chris Houghton’s happy enough with his Brighton options if a deal isn’t done tomorrow?

Albion, like the rest of the Football League, will have until 5pm on Thursday to make any final loan moves before another transfer window ‘slams shut’ until the New Year with Hughton talking about possible movement in the Argus.

The Brighton boss isn’t ruling out bringing in anyone with him keen to make sure the squad is ‘the best it can be’ for a testing period coming up between now and the end of the year when the January transfer window will then open.

Hughton knows full well past 5pm tomorrow that’s that, he’ll have to use what he has until then….

Well, unless he could find a worthwhile free agent?

If Hughton doesn’t bring anyone in he says, as much as it seems he’s ‘trying’, he’s happy with the options he has.

‘We have to give ourselves the best possible chance and that means right up until whatever time it is on Thursday doing the best we can to try to make sure our squad is the best it can be going into those games.

‘But if we don’t we know what we`ve got and we’ve got plenty here to work with.’

You can make transfers, at least some can, for ‘the sake of making them’ but not only do these have to fit in with Brighton’s financial position they also have to fit in with the squad dynamics and certainly not be someone that could ‘unsettled the harmony’ of the squad.

We’ll see what tomorrow brings!
