Nothing wacky about this, manager Chris Hughton late last signed signed Cameroon international Gaetan Bong to our ranks for the 2015-16 campaign.

The 27 year old international left back has joined the club on a free transfer following his release by Wigan Athletic following his short term contract with them in 2014-15 and he comes in having signed a two year deal at The Amex.

Speaking to the Official Site Hughton said of our Cameroonian capture.

‘Gaetan is a player that we were aware of before he came to England, while he was at Olympiakos in Greece. When he joined Wigan in February it provided us with the ideal opportunity to monitor his progress in England. That gave us a really good opportunity to watch him at close hand in the Championship, and we saw him a lot during that time and he was one of the outstanding players for them.’

Hughton went on to say that as well as international experience he has good experience from his spells in top flight football in French and Greek leagues and of course this summer he’s tried to focus on experience, so it’s a good fit.

Last season for Wigan after arriving in February he made 14 appearances for them and actually played against us in the DW clash.
