Manager Chris Hughton and midfielder Dale Stephens have given their thoughts following last night’s defeat by Rotherham United.

Making the trip to the New York Stadium to face Rotherham last night, whilst dominating possession on the day everything else went for the hosts including their two goals to consign Brighton to another defeat this year as they struggle for form and consistency following the club record breaking unbeaten run earlier in the season.

In his own post game interviews, Chris Hughton spoke of the need for Brighton to show ‘character’ following the game, and Stephens talked about disappointment and frustration following the defeat.

Brighton’s current run sees them without a win in the last eight games – a three two victory over Charlton Athletic on December 5 being the last one – but in those eight games they have only taken three points and Rotherham made it four defeats on the spin in all competitions.
