“Baffled Why He Never Got A Chance” “Really Rated” – Some Brighton Fans React To Transfer Announcement

|

Yesterday afternoon Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Oliver Norwood completed his expected switch to Bramall Lane and Sheffield United.

The 27-year-old Northern Ireland international more than played his part in our promotion to the Premier League the other year, making a total of 37 appearances across the season. He did spend 2017/18 out on loan with Fulham, making it back to back promotions on a personal level and with speculation rife this summer he would be moving on, the deal going through is no great surprise.

With the closure of the permanent transfer window last week, he moves initially on a loan deal which will become automatically permanent in January when restrictions on deals are lifted once more and manager Chris Hughton was full of praise as he spoke to the Official Site to announce the move.

Reacting to the news most understood the switch from a game-time perspective but there were some questions as to why he didn’t get a crack with us in the top-flight with some wondering ‘what if’.

All the best, Norwood will remain forever in our history…
