Skipper Bruno was celebrating his 36th birthday as Brighton rewrote the history books at Hillsborough as we took victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

Speaking to the Official Site in his own post game interviews he knew it was the perfect way to cap his birthday weekend, and the only regret was in not being able to hold out for the clean sheet right at the end of stoppage time.

‘It`s a really nice present. We know it`s a tough place to come to and we have some bad memories here, but I think the performance was brilliant from the first minute until the last. We`re a little bit upset about conceding the late goal, especially the back-four and the goalkeeper, as it would`ve been our fifth clean sheet in a row. But there were many positive things, and it was a strong performance.’

As well as praise for the work ethic of the team on the day, he also had praise for Oliver Norwood and Steve Sidwell who lined up together in midfield.

‘I know how important it is to break this type of record, and I`m so happy to be part of it. It was a really solid performance and that`s the most important thing, because when you come to this type of stadium against these types of players, it`s so important to play together and we did that. Sam Baldock is a really important player for us, he stretches the pitch and is one of the cleverest guys I`ve ever met. He’s always looking for the space on the pitch. I`m also pleased for Ollie Norwood and Siddy. They were top players in the middle of the park today, and that`s so important for us because it makes us stronger as a team.’

‘I`m so proud, and one of the reasons that I keep playing is because of them, they make me feel good every day. The players, fans and facilities give me energy, it`s not just one thing, there`s plenty of reasons. I`m just so happy and I try to enjoy every day.’
