Brighton’s Championship survival bid is one that has been very much ‘in our own hands’ anyway, or should be, with the win at Blackburn on Saturday moving us a step closer to ensuring that Hughton ensures the job that he was brought into do is done!

An own goal was enough to give us a one-nil win at Ewood Park to move us up to 16th place heading into the international break.

The lead was threatened by O’Grady, who is starting to produce for Brighton having initially looked like he wouldn’t make it past half a season let alone a whole one, but his effort hit the post before Liverpool loanee Teixeira also went close from 30-yards, hitting an effort just wide.

We couldn’t turn the dominance, and pressure we had, into a goal…. Until O’Grady’s dangerous cross was turned into his own net by Kilgallon (26) to put us ahead. The defender headed past his own ‘keeper Steele at the near post.

Stockdale didn’t have too much too do in either half really but did have to tip over Marshall’s effort, with that the closest Blackburn came in the first half.

Blackburn pressed for an equaliser in the second and Stockdale pulled off a fine save to keep out Rhodes’ effort and was also called into action late on to save from Olsson as Blackburn failed to level it up.

This will make the international break a much more pleasurable one for us now, but who was out MotM from this win? Cast a vote to you right!
