This afternoon Gaetan Bong signed a new one year deal at Brighton.

The Cameroonian was one of four players offered a new deal earlier this month ahead of our coming Premier League campaign, and with his deal expiring on June 30, he has now penned terms that will see him stay with us until the end of next season.

The 29 year old made 24 appearances across the campaign of 2016/17 as we secured automatic promotion into the Premier League and he did of course spend three months out with a knee injury.

Speaking to the Official Site manager Chris Hughton was delighted to see him signing up for another year.

‘We are delighted that Gaetan has agreed his new deal, as he has been a key member of the squad in his two years at the club. He played a big part in our success and I am looking forward to working with Gaetan again next season, as we look to establish ourselves in the Premier League.’

Having arrived at Brighton from Wigan Athletic back in the summer of 2015, he now has 41 appearances to his name across all competitions, with a further three from the substitutes bench.

Hopefully those that remains with offers will sign them and then Hughton can more largely focus on adding to the squad ahead of our top flight campaign next season.

Over to David Stockdale, Steve Sidwell and Niki Maenpaa unless I’ve missed something.
