Brighton and Hove Albion’s Boxing Day trip to Griffin Park to face Brentford has been given an earlier kick off following agreement between both clubs.

The game was set for a normal 3pm kick off, but both clubs have agreed to set it at the earlier 1pm time.

Whether it helps fans travelling or not is probably down to the individual person but the thinking behind the move is that with Middlesbrough at home on December 19 and then Ipswich on December 28 at The Amex, with a better gap between the games in some senses and with Christmas Day falling on the Friday this year it will give fans an extra day off with the Bank Holiday Monday.

Least that’s how it’s explained and seems to make some sort of sense with me.

After Ipswich and with no New Year’s Day game this year, Brighton are back in action hosting Wolverhampton Wanderers on January 2.
