I’ve lost count of the times I’ve said it, but I’ll say it again, ‘Brighton should be safe’ even after the defeat against title chasing Bournemouth on Friday at the Amex. The worry is if Millwall go on a run of wins and then win the two games in hand they have on us.

The two-nil defeat means that remain nine-points ahead of Millwall, who as said have games in hand, while Bournemouth moved four-points clear at the top of the table.

In a goalless first half, which didn’t see either side have a serious effort on target we had the first chance in the second half but Stephens’ effort from range went just over before Best missed a glorious chance to break the deadlock. With only ‘keeper Boruc to beat his effort was poor and more like a pass back that was easily saved.

Kermorgant headed wide before a foul by Dunk on Smith gave Bournemouth a freekick from 25-yards. Kermorgant (70) stepped up and curled into the top corner to give the visitors the lead.

He then turned provider when playing in Wilson (81) who had Halford on toast before beating Stockdale to seal the win in the final 10-minutes.
