The relegation fears have been eased a little more by a third successive win at the Amex as we dented Derby’s title bid on Tuesday. Brighton’s two-nil win, coupled with a Middlesbrough win, saw them go top and Derby drop to second – most importantly, from our point of view we’re now up to 18th and some nine-points clear of the drop zone!

Derby, who blasted us away with a first half onslaught last year if I recall when they beat us at the iPro Stadium, almost took the lead when Hendrick curled against the woodwork with Stockdale called into action to tip over a Keogh header as we got to half time level.

The lead came our way, shortly past the midway point of the second half when Stephens (69), had had seen his own header run loose, reacted first to put us ahead having come off the bench.

Pressure came from Derby with Ward and Hendrick having the best of the opportunities but with them not take with a little under 15-minutes to play the points were secured when the Derby defence again made it too easy for O’Grady to put in LuaLua (77) and he did the rest!

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us.
