Brighton’s cup run is over, we pushed Arsenal all the way but the FA Cup holders ran out winners at the Amex Stadium in the end with the great start, and two-goal lead, Arsenal went into one that we couldn’t claw back….

It took Arsenal less than 90-seconds to breakthrough, after a two-goal lead was cut they restored this with a fightback almost complete but we fell just short in the end losing three-two on Sunday.

Arsenal couldn’t have got off to a better start really with Walcott (2) converting a Chambers cross to give the visitors the lead this was doubled when another player working back to full fitness after a recent injury added the second when Ozil (24) finished off a Rosicky pass.

When half time arrived there didn’t look to be much sign of a Brighton comeback but just a few minutes into the second period when O’Grady (50) converted a knock on from his strike partner Baldock we were back in the game!

Swiftly these hopes were dashed though when Rosicky (59), who was excellent for Arsenal, volleyed home the third – we did give Arsenal something to worry about when Baldock (75) chipped over Szczesny to make it three-two.

Despite a strong penalty appeal for a handball against Chambers, which wasn’t given that initial two-goal lead proved too much for us to claw back as our focus shifts fully to the Championship now….
