I didn’t realise that doing so would have been the case but as we followed up the win over Birmingham on Saturday with a win over Leeds, who had beaten Middlesbrough and were on a run of five wins in six, meant that we won back to back games at the Amex for the first time in a year!

A goal, around the midway point of each half, was enough for us to beat Leeds two-nil on Tuesday.

Leeds started well and could have been ahead in the opening minutes but Bamba fluffed a chance following a corner before Teixeira returned the compliment when he headed wide following a Mackail-Smith, who had been recalled, cross when left with a free header.

Baldock (26), who hasn’t scored as many goals as we (or he) would have looked due to the role he’s playing, put us into the lead after Teixeira had combined with Calderon who gave Baldock the chance that he took.

Mackail-Smith could have added another before Leeds defender Wootton denied Baldock the chance of a second before Bamba against wasted another chance before half time.

Breathing space of the second goal came when Teixeira put in Kayal, Leeds ‘keeper Silvestri kept out his effort but this fell to Calderon (63) who followed up his double on Saturday with a simple finish to make it two-nil.

Stockdale kept his cleansheet intact when he saved well from Doukara with Stephens denied a goal by a Silvestri save onto the bar with the post preventing Teixeira from scoring in injury-time but it didn’t matter.

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us – who you think this was?

Select the name that you want from the list in the poll to your right, but why not also share your thoughts with us on your thinking for that person, and this latest game itself, with some views….
