A stunning game at the Amex saw Brighton win a seven-goal thriller at the Amex on Saturday, edging a four-three win against Birmingham in a game that saw five of the goals come in the second half – all of this after Birmingham missed a late penalty in the first half that would have put them into the break ahead, and perhaps seen a different outcome….

When Teixeira (8) cut in before firing past Birmingham ‘keeper Randolph this gave us an early lead but it wasn’t a lead that we held for long when Donaldson (13) turned a Gleeson effort past Stockdale to make it one-one.

Shinnie missed a great chance to put Birmingham ahead as Calderon went close before Bruno’s foul on Shinnie gave them a penalty but Stockdale pulled off a fine save to keep out the penalty from Caddis.

That miss was punished in the second half when Calderon won the ball in midfield before turning home a Baldock cross with Teixeira (58) following up a Randolph save to deny Baldock to make it three before the hour.

Birmingham sent on Thomas (76) and he reduced the deficit before Calderon (85), who wouldn’t be expected to score one, let alone two, added his second when he finished off when the defence failed to clear. Novak’s (90+2) injury-time goal was too little too late.

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us – who you think this was?

Select the name that you want from the list in the poll to your right, but why not also share your thoughts with us on your thinking for that person, and this latest game itself, with some views….
