Manager Chris Hughton and the boys have the opportunity to make history this weekend when we face MK Dons at the Amex.

Last night’s draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough equalled a more than 80 year record of 16 league games without defeat, and a draw or victory on Saturday would be a new 17 game record.

The 16 record was set back in Division Three South in 1930-31.

Chief Executive Paul Barber said of the opportunity in an interview with the Official Site.

‘There have already been some amazing moments at the Amex since the stadium opened, and this weekend there is a chance we could witness another historic achievement. The team have made a fantastic start to this season`s campaign, and to beat a record that has stood for over 80 years would be a brilliant thing to be a part of – so we`re urging as many fans as possible to come along on Saturday to hopefully be involved in another bit of Amex history!’

Karl Robinson’s MK Dons side make their first trip to the Amex this weekend following their own promotion last season and they come to us on the back of a one nil victory over Charlton Athletic in midweek.

In seven historic meetings with the side they actually edge form with four wins and only two losses, so that’s another record we can attempt to rectify as well.
