Brighton centre half Shane Duffy was presented with the FAI Senior International Player of the Year this on Sunday evening.

The 26 year old defender picked up the gong at their International Awards ceremony last night, beating off competition from James McClean and Darren Randolph after an impressive string of performances for the Republic of Ireland across the year.

During 2017, he made nine international appearances for his country, grabbing his first goal for the side in their away game against Georgia, before adding a second against Denmark.

Under 23 duo Aaron Connolly and Jayson Molumby were nominated at Under 19 and Under 17 levels but lost out respectively to Declan Rice and Aaron Bolger.
