Brighton Fans Delighted With Andone Announcement

|

Brighton have confirmed the expected signing of Romanian international striker Florin Andone.

The 25-year-old former Deportivo La Coruna attacker joins the club on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee and the deal will be official once the transfer window for international transfers opens on June 8.

In his two seasons with the Spanish side, he has found the net 18 times in 69 matches and manager Chris Hughton told the Official Site that having tracked the player for some time, he was delighted to get the deal over the line.

“We are delighted that Florin has agreed to join us. He is a player that we have tracked for some time, and he will add a new dimension to our attacking options. He is a very hard-working player and has proven his quality at the highest level in Spain, as well as at international level. I am looking forward to working with him next season.”

Prior to joining Deportivo in the summer of 2016, he was with Cordoba and found the net 27 times in 58 games for them.

He made three appearances for his country in Euro 2016 and he has 21 caps to his name so far.

Having been teased by the club a few hours back (see above tweet) and many hoping that it would be Andone coming through the door, fans are rightly pleased with the capture and big things are now hoped from the man moving forward.
