Brighton Fans Will Have To Get Used To These Transfer Links As January Nears – Manchester United This Time For Defender

|

With the ongoing impressive form of Brighton and Hove Albion centre-half Lewis Dunk and his now England international involvement, speculation linking the 26-year-old former Academy graduate with a move away from the club isn’t new.

His performances over the last few years as we won promotion from the Championship into the Premier League has seen his name tentatively linked with others, and those rumours have only grown as he impressed in the top-flight itself.

With his now England involvement under Gareth Southgate that will only serve to boost such rumours during quiet news cycles and with the November international break in full flow, we’ve hit the rumour part of the lull and the Express have claimed Jose Mourinho will make a ‘shock’ move for the player in the next window.

In large, just replace Manchester United in the report with the name of any club above Brighton in the table and you have exactly the same story with utterly no concrete information to lean on other than the bare speculation that’s been around since August, so fans certainly shouldn’t be worried – especially as Dunk has only recently signed a new five year deal at the Amex.

He’s also again linked by the report to Everton and we’ve seen it before and my guess is we’ll see the exact same reports, with no new information in December as the BS buildup really gets underway. To be honest it’ll probably be only a week before that report gets another airing by the replace references to Dunk and go with Shane Duffy as we’ve seen that before as well.
