Having secured Premier League promotion rumour has it Brighton remain hopeful of completing a loan deal for Chelsea’s England U21 international Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Brighton, one of the clubs linked with a potential loan deal during the winter window, have retained an interest in Loftus-Cheek. As the highly rated midfielder has been limited in his appearances for the Premier League winners the Evening Standard reports he wants to leave Stamford Bridge on loan next season.
Loftus-Cheek, 21, could now be allowed to come to the Amex Stadium on a temporary basis after Chelsea boss Antonio Conte decided against his loan exit in January.
He could be an arrival to the Amex this but among those moving on is Richie Towell. The Irishman is yet to start a league game for Brighton, managing two FA Cup appearances, and Albion boss Hughton doesn’t anticipate that changing next season.
Brighton boss Hughton, capped 53 times by Ireland himself, is keen on Towell getting first team football at a Championship club next season so he’ll be sent out on loan, along with ex-Chelsea youngster Rohan Ince.
Quoted by Irish outlet RTE, Hughton said: ‘Players like Rohan (Ince) and Richie will go out on loan. We have been really delighted with Richie but we are very keen for him to get out on loan to the Championship next season.’
