Brighton are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jamie Murphy in the Brighton win over Brentford was enough to earn a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Murphy was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the Football League blurb read.

‘Brighton kicked off The Football League weekend with a Friday night triumph against Brentford, with Jamie Murphy starring.

‘The winger scored one and made one as the Seagulls recorded a 3-0 win – their first of the season by more than a one-goal margin.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to them for this recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course Brighton’s three-nil win.

Full Team – Scott Shearer (Mansfield Town), Bojan Jokic (Nottingham Forest), Leon Legge (Cambridge United), Adam Barrett (Southend United), Mahlon Romeo (Millwall), Jamie Murphy (Brighton & Hove Albion), Joey Barton (Burnley), Bradden Inman (Crewe Alexandra), Tom Naylor (Burton Albion), Jobi McAnuff (Leyton Orient), Gary Hooper (Sheffield Wednesday).

Manager – Paul Heckingbottom and Tommy Wright (Barnsley)
