Brighton Reject New Bid For Midfielder

|

The chase for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Oliver Norwood has stepped up another gear today with Hull City again reportedly failing in a fresh bid for the player.

The 27-year-old Northern Ireland international has featured on the rumour mill already this summer as it was claimed that Hull City had entered an initial bid that also included winger Jiri Skalak but they were rebuffed in their interest.

Sky Sports have reported this morning that with Skalak expected to complete a move to Millwall, Hull have now returned with a second bid focusing purely on Norwood but again it doesn’t reach our valuation of the player.

Having played his part in our promotion to the Premier League, he spent last season out on loan and helped Fulham to the top-flight to register back-to-back promotions for himself in the last two years and he has a number of suitors if the speculation is to be believed.

Sky suggest that with only 12 months remaining on his initial deal with us, we are holding out for at least £1.5million as we look to help balance our books following recent strengthening.
