Brighton confirmed the signing of Irish defender Warren O’Hora yesterday evening.
18 year old O’Hora comes in from Bohemians on undisclosed terms and he’s signed a contract until 2020.
The Republic of Ireland Under 19 international comes in following a successful trial at the end of 2017 and he will obviously link up firstly with Under 23 coach Simon Rusk and his squad.
Rusk told the Official Site.
‘We`re pleased to secure the services of Warren, after he impressed during a couple of training sessions before Christmas. He`s had some good experience playing in Ireland`s Premier Division last season, and he`ll certainly add to the competition we already have in central defence. We`re delighted to welcome him to the club and are keen to contribute towards his continued development as a footballer.’
Speaking himself after signing his deal, the player said it was a quick and easy decision once he knew we were interested in him.
‘I was really interested to come over before Christmas to have a look around for two days. As soon as I was offered something here, I accepted and came back over straight away. The training ground is unbelievable, especially compared to the ones back home. It`s important for young players, to help their development. We all want to make it as professional footballers in the Premier League, so it helps to be at a good training ground with excellent surroundings every day. I just can`t wait to get started, get into the under-23s, get in the gym and work hard every day. Hopefully I can do well and play in the Premier League at some point.’
Describing himself as a player, he went on to explain.
‘I`m a ball-playing centre-back, I read the game well and can be very physical when I want to be. That`s me, and I`m looking to kick on here.’
