Izzy Brown has joined Brighton on loan.

The Chelsea forward, who spent last season at Huddersfield, will come up against them for Albion during this campaign after a season-long deal was announced this afternoon.

Chris Hughton was impressed by Brown during his spell in the Championship last season telling the Official Website he was delighted to bring him to the Amex Stadium.

‘The natural progression for Izzy, having enjoyed such a successful season in the Championship last season, was to step up to the Premier League – and we are delighted he will be doing that with us, here at Brighton. He is a player with great potential and will bring a different dimension to our attacking options for the season ahead, alongside our existing strikers.’

Brown, 20, is expected to make his Brighton debut against Southend this evening, he’ll be in the Albion squad anyway for the pre-season friendly against Phil Brown’s side at Roots Hall.

Having helped Huddersfield to promotion via the Championship play-off final in May, Brown, who has previously been loaned to Vitesse Arnhem and Rotherham, will now get his Premier League chance at the Amex after making only one appearance from the bench for his parent club so far.
