Despite a turn in fortunes with recent results following on from the club record setting unbeaten run earlier in the season, defender Bruno has said that there are still plenty of reasons for people to remain optimistic as we go into the second half of the 2015-16 season.

Speaking to the Official Site following on from the most recent loss against Wolverhampton Wanderers on New Year’s Day, Bruno said that the overall performance and the narrow nature of the defeat was a positive even though everybody was frustrated at the full time whistle.

With players to return from injury as well, he knows that will be a further boost on top of whatever business the club might do this month to strengthen the pack further.

‘We are in a bad run so our confidence should be low, but that is not the case due to our performance in the Wolves game. It`s hard, especially when you come from having a good period to be in this run of form. But now we can be happy because a few players are going to come back from injury and they will help us a lot. We have to keep trying, keep playing well and the goals will come.’

The 35 year old went on to talk about the disappointment as again it was a match we should’ve taken something from, if not the victory, but the players were determined to get back to winning ways.

‘We were so frustrated, as we were attacking for 90 minutes. They didn`t have many chances and scored from an own goal. Our performance was really good, we just need to improve a little bit in the last third. Now it is time to be together and think about what we can change and prepare for the next game.’

Ending his interview, he admitted the only thing we are lacking at this moment in time is a clinical edge in the box, and it applies to the whole team not just the attackers as he references his own woodwork bound effort.

‘I couldn`t see it but I put 100 per cent of my energy into it and it hit the crossbar. It would have been nice to get a goal and earn at least a draw. Football is about goals. If you are playing well, attacking and creating chances then you have more chances to score, but it`s just about being clinical.’
