It’s being reported that Brighton have knocked back two bids from Premier League Burnley for midfielder Dale Stephens.

News broke earlier today that a £4million offer from Sean Dyche’s Championship Champions in 2015/16 had been knocked back, but The Argus are reporting that the £4million offer was in fact a second and improved offer in reality for the influential player.

Citing that Dyche was interested in Stephens as a replacement for Joey Barton who left the Turf Moor outfit this summer for Rangers, they go on to state that it was expected there would be interest in Stephens and Beram Kayal but the club and manager Chris Hughton have no interest in selling either.

Kayal has been linked with Hull today.

With Stephens’ importance for us last season, £4million certainly wouldn’t cut the mustard on doing a deal and if Burnley are serious, you’d have to think we’d be looking for at least double, if not more, in the current market.
