Brighton’s Championship survival hopes had taken a knock in recent weeks but after another defeat against Nottingham Forest at the weekend we responded with a point at Cardiff on Tuesday night.

It wasn’t a pretty game, it took more than a half for the first ‘meaningful effort’ on target, but we’ll take a nil-nil draw from the Cardiff City Stadium, which just about keeps us out of the relegation zone – albeit on goal difference after Millwall beat Birmingham.

A draw was expected, as these were the pre-game thoughts:-

Draw 100%
Brighton win 0%
Cardiff win 0%

Best, one of those brought into the starting XI along with Kayal and Forster-Caskey, had one of our best chances that he should have scored.

Top goalscorer, which is odd to say about a defender, Dunk had another but he headed wide with neither of these opportunities taken.

Cardiff’s best moments came from Gunnarsson, but Stockdale kept out his second half effort, that one early in the second half was the first one the home side had managed, and another effort of his was ‘wasteful’ towards the end of the game.

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us – who you think this was?

Select the name that you want from the list in the poll to your right, but why not also share your thoughts with us on your thinking for that person, and this latest game itself, with some views….
