Lewis Dunk has hailed the sides character as Brighton fought back from behind to take a point against Southampton this weekend.

With the visitors to the Amex Stadium taking the early lead in the game, Glenn Murray secured a point for us shortly after the half time restart, and as we extended our unbeaten run to three games and moved ourselves into eleventh place, Dunk told the Official Site that everybody had to be delighted with the way we’ve started our top flight campaign following promotion.

‘It’s not nice to be a goal down, but we showed character – and we know we’ve got that in the dressing room. We were coming into the unknown, so to get 12 points from 10 games is a good return for us. We’re getting more relaxed in the games and getting to where we were in the Championship, by trying to dominate games and enjoying the ball.’

The centre half went on to say that there was frustration with the manner in which Southampton took the lead, but again he wanted to focus on the positives.

‘We’re disappointed with the goal. We didn’t react well when the ball came back off the post. But after that we improved a lot and it turned us on – their goal gave us a boost and we played quite well. We’re three games unbeaten now, so hopefully we can continue that. Swansea are a team around us and that’s a game we want to win.’

Dunk went on to say.

‘The next game after that is after the international break, so that`s a long way off. We`ve been there before when we`ve lost the game going into it, and it’s then a couple weeks until you play again. So hopefully we’ll come out with the three points.’
