The Hull v Brighton replay has had to be brought forward so that we don’t irritate UEFA and give fans a better choice of game than is provided by the Chumpions League fixtures.

Following our one all draw last night, we now travel to the KC Stadium on Monday and whereas the game would normally have taken place on the Tuesday, we aren’t allowed to clash with UEFA’s little Champions League baby, so as is normal, sod everyone else, and sod the fans – the money spinner must win out.

Neither manager is particular happy about this, and The Argus quote both of them.

Oscar –

‘I don’t think it’s good for anybody to play two games in three days but it’s what we have to do. Of course the travelling will not go in our favour. We can’t do anything about it.’

Of course Brighton face Wigan on Saturday, and Hull themselves face Cardiff City, and Steve Bruce said.

‘I think that’s ridiculous. Surely we could play on the same night as the Champions League. We’ll have to take it and deal with it. Brighton have got the same problem as us but the big worry is injuries.’

We were set to face Blackburn on the Tuesday, so that will need to be rearranged, so there was a scheduled Championship encounter, there are three in the Scottish Premiership, and a bulky League 1 and 2 schedule for Tuesday but UEFA are scared that an FA Cup clash will take away viewing figures from Zenit St Petersburg v Borrusia Dortmund and Olympiakos v Manchester United.

Would anybody be watching those anyway?

Pathetic decision and like so much in the modern game, just a joke.
