Adrian Colunga, as things stand, will be coming back to Brighton this summer and will be looking to prove to Chris Hughton he’s got a future at the Amex Stadium, which given the fact he was happy to ship him out following his arrival wouldn’t seem too likely!

Colunga returned to Spain to sign for Granada on loan, they’ve got the right of taking up a one-year option on him but they’re yet to do this and the expectancy is, despite high highly rated nature in his homeland, they’ll not be doing this.

Should that prove to be the case and he does return then he’s reportedly told ‘sources in Spain’ he’ll happily fight for first-team place at the Amex Stadium next season revealing to Radio Marca that he’s very happy with life in Brighton and wouldn’t have a problem coming back to the area.

The 30-year-old admits that he didn’t enjoy a successful spell with Granada mind.

‘I consider this to have been half a very good year and half bad.

Half bad because I had bad luck here. Half good because I was happy in England. I played, scored some goals.

‘It was just a change of manager that changed things. I had various options to move on and I chose Granada with all the hope in the world.

‘When I was available, I played. But I was sent-off, suspended for two games and then injured for a month-and-a-half.’

Hughton seems to have made up his mind when it comes to Colunga but as he’s got another year left on his contract he could yet return, removing his wages from the monthly outgoings is something you tend to think that we’ll prefer though so one of those Spanish clubs that could be interested, if not Granada, will come forward….

If the forward stays then he’ll have pre-season to impress and prove to Hughton he’s worth a second chance.
