It was a mixed but entertaining day on Sunday as Brighton and Hove Albion took victory over Manchester United at the Amex Stadium.
Goals from Glenn Murray, Shane Duffy and Pascal Gross returned our first three points of the 2018/19 Premier League campaign, but with a number of players shining with their individual efforts, the injury to Lewis Dunk early on in the first half of the game gave summer arrival Leon Balogun his first opportunity in a competitive match as a substitute and the 30-year-old took it with both hands.
Taking to social media following the game, he posted.
Thanks everyone @OfficialBHAFC for the warm welcome. Couldn’t really have wished for a better debut in the EPL, beating ManUtd at home 🔵⚪️ #BHAFC pic.twitter.com/RSE54TX8BB

It certainly went over well with the fans and they were full of praise for the man in return.
He was magnificent

I honestly feared the worse when @lewisdunk went off injured, but you stepped in and played confidently, and very well. Well done, and what a match.

You played brilliantly! Not easy to make your EPL debut off the bench against United!

That’s only a small section of the messages he received but whilst it’s still early days, it looks like the club and manager Chris Hughton have identified another solid player that will quickly become a fan favourite if he keeps putting in those efforts.
