Chris Hughton’s already said that he’s expecting more arrivals soon enough but the return from injury of Andrew Crofts basically makes him a new signing for him and Brighton anyway.

The same could be said, to a lesser degree, of Solly March and Sam Baldock after all three returned for pre-season training this week. Having these three available enabled Hughton to have a fully fit squad available for the first time this year!

Hughton has spoken about Crofts’ return on the Official Website and how his return makes him, as I’ve said, like a ‘new signing’ to him.

‘Solly March and Sam Baldock played a fair part of last season, but with Andrew Crofts, it’s like having a new signing.

‘He’s back in training, but because of the period of time he’s been out, we’ve just got to make sure that everything is right with him.

‘We will do in that pre-season period, but he was a player we missed for almost all of last season. It’s really good to have him back.’

Working with Crofts again, as he had at Norwich, is something we know Hughton is relishing and we’ll be relishing his return after his injury nightmare of the past year or so, which we hope is finally behind him.
