Gus Poyet has handed a trial to 20 year old, American left footed winger, Devann Yao
Brighton are giving trial to American winger Devann Yao. Yao has Ivorian and Italian parents, but was born in New York.
He was on Ipswich’s books last season and recently had a trial with West Ham United and his hometown club, New York Redbulls/
The 20 year old, who’s mother is also his agent, also had spells at St Mirren, and Livorino in Italy. He joined French club Metz as a 13 year old after being looked at by both Manchester United and Arsenal as a kid.
Yao is expected to be on the bench for tonight’s reserve team clash against Leyton Orient.
Matutu and Kasim, who are also on trial at the club are expected to feature too, alongside Peter Brezovan who has made a full recovery from his fractured wrist.
