Brighton are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Lewis Dunk in the two one victory over Birmingham City on Tuesday evening at St Andrews was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Dunk was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘The in-form centre-back scored his second goal of the season to help the Seagulls defeat Birmingham City 2-1 at St. Andrew’s. The 24-year-old was unmarked at the back post to head home a Jiri Skalak corner, with fellow defender Connor Goldson also on target for the visitors. Chris Hughton’s side moved to within two points of league leaders Burnley, extending their unbeaten run to eight matches in the process.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Dunk for his recognition, but the most important thing about the match was of course taking the three points.
