Brighton are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Lewis Dunk in the three one victory over Charlton Athletic at the weekend at The Valley was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Dunk was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘It could not be any tighter at the top of the Sky Bet Championship, with Brighton’s 3-1 win at Charlton Athletic moving the Seagulls level on points with Burnley and Middlesbrough. Dunk produced a typically impressive display in defence with the already-relegated Addicks throwing caution to the wind, while the creative forces – led by Jiri Skalak – did the damage at the other end.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Dunk for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Joel Coleman (Oldham Athletic), Darius Charles (Wimbledon), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Marc Roberts (Barnsley), Michael Jacobs (Wigan Athletic), Michael O’Connor (Port Vale), Henri Lansbury (Nottingham Forest), Dean Parrett (Stevenage), Chris Taylor (Millwall), James Hanson (Bradford City), Lucas Akins (Burton Albion).

Manager – John Still (Dagenham and Redbridge).
