Brighton are represented in the latest Premier League team of the week that has been selected by BBC pundit Garth Crooks following the clash with Arsenal.

Actually Garth is now down as a ‘Football Analyst’ these days, a posh term for a pundit then!

The performance by Lewis Dunk in the two one victory over Arsenal at the weekend at the Amex Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other, in the opinion of the former Spurs striker anyway, most impressive performers in the topflight over the latest weekend.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Crooks, we’ll also not argue with it, selected Dunk as part of his team but explaining his choice he told the BBC.

‘Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy played like two bouncers with strict instructions not to let anyone into the nightclub. Arsenal`s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang crept past these two bruisers briefly – only to be discovered and promptly thrown out. What exactly is going on at Arsenal is difficult to fathom. I said at the end of last season that boss Arsene Wenger should have walked then; now I fear he may be forced to leave. This should not be happening to a man of this stature. And why don`t Brighton fans chant manager Chris Hughton’s name? ‘Chrissy Hughton’s blue-and-white army’ will do.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Dunk for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Jack Butland (Stoke City), Matt Lowton (Burnley), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Adrian Mariappa (Watford), Ben Davies (Tottenham Hotspur), Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Liverpool), Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Andre Ayew (Swansea City), Leroy Sane (Manchester City).
