Has Uwe Hunemeier been brought in to replace Lewis Dunk or compliment him in the Brighton squad?

The German defender arriving at the Amex Stadium this week only intensified the rumours Dunk will be on his way with the latest reports in the Daily Mail suggesting a swap deal proposed by Steve McClaren involving Mike Williamson could be on the cards?

Fulham have failed with offers for Dunk, McClaren wanted him when he was Derby boss, it’s now being claimed he wants him at Newcastle and could offer Williamson and cash to sign him….

The Hunemeier addition itself would have left people wondering what the future held for Dunk and if there’s any truth to the Mail reports today maybe we’ve seen the last of Dunk in an Albion shirt? We’ll be weaker without him without a doubt if the 23-year-old did leave the Amex.

However if a proven player at Championship, also for several years from his five-years at St James’ Park in the Premier League could come in as part of a cash plus player deal in the shape of Williamson this could sweeten the pot?

I’m sure Albion boss Chris Hughton worked with Williamson at Newcastle so he’ll know all about him so this is a rumour that might have some legs to it!
