Casper Ankergren and Inigo Calderon have now put pen to paper on their contract extensions keeping them with us until the summer of 2016.

Both players were offered 12 month contract extensions when manager Chris Hughton named his retained list for the coming 2015-16 season, and earlier today they penned those deals.

Speaking to the Official Site Hughton explained about Calderon firstly.

‘Calde has played a lot of games this season and performed well for me. I have asked him to play out of position and do a particular job for the team and he has done that extremely well. He is also an important part of the dressing room.’

Adding about Ankergren.

‘Equally with Casper, while he hasn’t played in the first team since I came here, it is vital for us to have three goalkeepers we can rely on – and we know Casper fits that bill. He is a very good and experienced professional and knows the role well.’

In 2014-15 Calderon made 41 appearances, scoring four times, and our longest serving player at the club was named our Player of the Year for last season.
