Elvis has left the building twice before but this time he’ll not be coming back to the Amex Arena.
Having spent time on loan at Huddersfield and Go Ahead Eagles in the last two season’s Brighton have confirmed the permanent transfer of Elvis Manu to Genclerbirligi SK.
Manu has joined the Turkish club on two year deal after being granted a free transfer by Albion.
Chris Hughton hasn’t been able to offer the forward much football in the Championship and this isn’t going to change with Brighton now playing in the Premier League.
It was decided, as much as Hughton told the Official Website Manu has always worked hard, the competition for places wouldn’t have allowed him football at the Amex so it was best for him to move on.
Hughton said: ‘The competition for places in our forward areas means that it has been very difficult for Elvis to play the number of matches he would have liked. He has worked hard during his time here, but with his game time likely to be limited again, this is the best move for him. It gives him the chance to play regular football in a competitive Turkish Super League, and I would like to wish him all the best for the future on behalf of everyone at the club.’
Arriving from Feyenoord in August 2015 the Dutchman was limited to just 17 appearances for Brighton scoring three goals.
