Manager Chris Hughton was left toasting a fantastic performance by his Brighton and Hove Albion side on Sunday evening as we took victory over Manchester United to notch up our first three points of the 2018/19 campaign.
First half goals from Glenn Murray, Shane Duffy and Pascal Gross gave us the 3-2 win by the fulltime whistle but United certainly made a game of it with Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba finding the net for them and whilst it was a defensive effort, we took full advantage of their slow start and then dug in during the second half to see it out.
Whilst Pascal Gross’ performance sees him rewarded with the graphic as he claimed the highest rating, Whoscored has notable mentions for others in the squad.
Glenn Murray – 7.29 – Goal
Shane Duffy – 7.22 – Goal
Anthony Knockaert – 7.20 – Assist
Solly March – 7.14 – Assist
Whilst those players probably share in more of the headlines than others, it was a team showing and it needed everyone to do their bit regardless of what the ratings say and that shouldn’t be forgotten.
Good to see game time for a few more additions as well as we continue to be patient with summer captures as they settle in.
