Friendly – Busy Day Ends In Charlton Draw

|

Having started Tuesday with a behind closed doors friendly against Portsmouth, Brighton and Hove Albion travelled to The Valley to take part in a clash with Charlton Athletic.

With Maty Ryan, Ezequiel Schelotto, Shane Duffy, Gaeten Bong, Anthony Knockaert, Yves Bissouma, Beram Kayal, Markus Suttner, Oliver Norwood and Tomer Hemed all getting minutes in the first match of the day, a largely different group made the trip for the evening’s clash as manager Chris Hughton took the opportunity to split the group for fitness purposes.

It was our second draw of the day, but we opened the scoring through Pascal Gross and had plenty of opportunities to extend our advantage before Naby Sarr levelled the scores up late on. This game saw Leon Balogun make his non-competitive debut following his arrival earlier in the summer.

Brighton:

Button (Keto 79), Bruno (Moore 79), Dunk (Kerr 79), Balogun (Barclay 64), Bernardo (Cochrane 79), Towell (Tilley 36 (Gyokeres 59)), Stephens (Normann 79), Propper (Collar 79), March (Maguire-Drew 79), Gross (Mandroiu 79), Murray (Connolly 64).

Attendance: 2,256.
Away: 458.

Good to see a couple of debuts across both games yesterday, should do them the world of good as they continue adjusting to life at the club.
