With a lull in the Premier League fixture list owing to the October international break and Nations League games and friendlies, any real news about Brighton and Hove Albion is in pretty short supply, to be honest.
One thing did catch my eye at the weekend though, the clubs’ social media team did a mini flashback and reminded fans that it was nine years to the day (Saturday) since Elliott Bennett and Tommy Elphick gave us a 2-0 victory over Gillingham back in 2009.
My first @OfficialBHAFC goal 9 years ago! How time flies. Good times on the south coast ???? https://t.co/077q1OSa0j

As you can see from the above Tweet, now 29-year-old Bennett was happy to reminisce back to is first club goal even if he now plys his trade for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.
With a trip down memory lane to enjoy, Seagulls fans were happy to oblige.
It was an amazing time

With two spells at the club, Bennett remains fondly remembered for his efforts in our shirt and it must be said that was a cracking free kick!
