With their second scoreless draw in 4 days, Albion can take great pride in shutting out two of the Championship’s best strike forces and most talented sides.
With all the injuries and suspensions that the Seagulls have they must be ecstatic with the last 5 games, maybe Millwall aside.
Albion started with Barnes up top and gave a debut to Craig Conway on the wing replacing Kasenga Lua Lua. Forster-Caskey kept his place and Bruno, back after injury got a space on the bench.
With a fantastic vocal support of 1,800 travelling Seagulls fans the Albion gave as good as they got against this talented QPR side, although it has to be said that QPR had the better chances with Charlie Austin making a mess of a good chance and Kuszczak making a tremendous stop from bad boy Joey Barton’s free kick.
Albion’s best moment came from a David Lopez free kick but Rob Green saved comfortably.
Two points away to the probably the leagues best two sides has got to be seen as a good week in the office; what Albion must do now is to finish it off by beating bottom of the league Bolton Wanderers at the Amex on Saturday. A game which has banana skin written all over it!
Personally I think the Albion have pulled their season together well and the likes of Keith Andrew’s (who can’t play Saturday due to the loan agreement with Bolton) and Craig Conway, could prove to be great signings, especially once we can start putting out a fully fit and suspension less side.
I believe we are definitely a top six side and again, if everyone is fully fit, could challenge for automatic promotion.
OG is definitely getting things right and Albion are again proving to be a very difficult side to score against.
He is using youngsters when it’s appropriate and making sensible and positive substitutions.
Nathan Jones Very Happy
Assistant Head Coach Nathan Jones was overjoyed with the performance from the Albion.
In the Argus Jones said: “I thought it was first class. We went about our business very, very well. It`s a very difficult place to come and they won`t drop many points here.
“It was an excellent performance, a real proper away performance. We did our jobs, we did all the ugly stuff really well.
