Striker Tomer Hemed was delighted to score the winner for Brighton in Sunday’s clash with Newcastle United.
Hosting Rafa Benitez’s side at the Amex Stadium for the game, Hemed hit the winner in th 51st minute but the Israeli international was quick to praise the collective performance of the side in picking up a valuable three points.
Speaking to the Official Site following the game, Hemed explained.
‘All of us work hard and try to do the best we can. As a striker, sometimes you don`t get a lot of chances and you have to be ready for the one you get. I’m happy that I scored the goal and it helped the team get the three points. From the other side, the defence did well and I think we all had a good game and deserved the win. We put our bodies on the line for the three points, and it gives us a push for the next few games.’
With Arsenal up next at the weekend, Hemed went on to say that Brighton would go into the game in good confidence and we’d be looking for another positive result.
‘First of all, we need to win our home games, as we know it’s more difficult to get points away from home. This kind of game is a new experience for us, and we’ll try to do our best away from home. We’ll work hard to do our best again.’
With two goals to his name this season, hopefully it’s two of many more to come in the Premier League this year.
