Manager Chris Hughton has confirmed that Izzy Brown has returned to Chelsea for treatment following the injury he picked up against Manchester City.

The on loan winger was substituted in the two nil defeat last weekend and we are now waiting on an update from his parent club as to the severity of the issue.

Speaking to the Official Site, Hughton explained that it was natural that he returned to Chelsea for assessment and he was expecting to here from them in the next day or so.

‘We`ll probably find out today or tomorrow. He`s gone back to Chelsea for assessment; that`s a normal procedure for them and their loan players.’

Moving onto other players, he went on to say.

‘We know where we are with Sam Baldock and Beram Kayal. Sam`s is a calf problem and he had light surgery. We anticipate that he`ll still be out for a period of time.’

Having held the open training session and seen plenty of youngsters in attendance for that, he ended by saying.

‘It`s wonderful for them, and we adapted the session a bit too. They are the ones that come week in week out and support the team, so it`s pleasing for us as staff to do it for them.’
