Brighton are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this midweek’s action.

The performance by Brighton in the three two victory over Blackburn Rovers in midweek at Ewood Park was enough to earn manager Chris Hughton the role of manager of the most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Hughton was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Brighton returned to the top of the Sky Bet Championship, albeit for only 24 hours, courtesy of another impressive performance away from home. The Seagulls won 3-2 at Blackburn Rovers, with Shane Duffy – against his former club – among the goalscorers. It’s now 15 matches unbeaten for Hughton’s men, who are eight points clear of third spot.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Hughton for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Daniel Bentley (Brentford), Charlie Taylor (Leeds United), Martin Cranie (Huddersfield Town), Alex Pearce (Derby County), Bruno Manga (Cardiff City), Jonathan Spector (Birmingham City), Stefan Johansen (Fulham), Sam Hutchinson (Sheffield Wednesday), Mohamed Diame (Newcastle United), Graham Dorrans (Norwich City), Gary Madine (Bolton Wanderers).

Manager – Chris Hughton (Brighton).
