The injury loss of Gaetan Bong, which could be a long-term one, would be a blow for Brighton.

Chris Hughton, speaking to the Argus, is now weighing up what his next move would be? Would he turn to Inigo Calderon or Liam Rosenior to fill the left back void, if this proves to be the case!

It’s hoped Bong’s injury isn’t ligament damage, if it is Hughton’s said he’s undecided if he’ll turn to Calderon or Rosenior to fill in from his ‘in-house’ options or if a loan move might plug that gap.

‘The options we have in-house would very much be Calde and Liam Rosenior. Liam has played there on quite a few occasions.

‘He (Bong) has been excellent. He’s a very strong individual and we know what his qualities are. Defensively he is very good and he breaks forward very well.

‘The fact he has been an ever-present shows what he has given us. We hope it’s not a bad one, because we will certainly miss him.’

Brighton will definitely miss Bong if a long-term spell on the sidelines is confirmed, until that point we’ll just have to keep fingers crossed!

He’s not the only doubt for Reading on Saturday, Bong’s obviously a serious doubt for the next fixture and several more to follow, with Hughton having several other worries to take into account ahead of that game at the Madejski Stadium….

As the week unfolds will find out more.

It’ll be unlikely Jack Harper will come into the mix at this stage but the 19-year-old ‘kid from Madrid’ will make his Brighton debut tonight when he turns out for the Albion U21 side against West Brom tonight.

Having recovered from a knee injury the highly rated Malaga born, former Real Madrid youth product that plays for Scotland at youth level; will be involved for bottom placed Albion against the league leaders as he looks to show a glimpse of what he can do.
