Following today’s clash between Manchester United and Brighton, here are the instant reactions from both managers.

Manchester United hosted Brighton at Old Trafford for a 3pm kick off on Saturday November 25, with the hosts taking a one nil victory on the night with an own goal from Lewis Dunk – however it may still be credited to Ashley Young by the dubious goals panel.

Teams:

Man Utd:

de Gea, A Valencia, Lindelof, Smalling, Young, Pogba, Matic, Mata (Ibrahimovic 62), Rashford (Fellaini 80), Martial (Mkhitaryan 71), Lukaku.

Substitutes:

Rojo, Romero, Herrera, McTominay.

Brighton:

Ryan, Bruno, Duffy, Dunk, Bong, Knockaert, Gross (Brown 88), Stephens, Propper, March (Izquierdo 75), Murray (Hemed 74).

Substitutes:

Kayal, Goldson, Schelotto, Krul.

Speaking to the BBC’s cameras a short time after match day referee Swarbrick blew the final whistle, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho explained.

‘Honestly, I think Brighton were very good. I want to be honest and give them what they deserve, for me probably they deserve more than the result they got. They played really well, they had a good defensive organisation and then when they had the ball they were dangerous. They gave us probably the hardest match we’ve had this season.’

Brighton manager Chris Hughton in his comparitive interview explained.

‘In a tight affair we were good value and I’m really disappointed not to come away with anything. We looked to get into that final third as often as we could. I thought we were very brave on the ball.’

Adding.

‘We’ve played three of the big six and we play Liverpool next Saturday. We haven’t been humiliated in any of them. That will go some way with confidence in the changing room.’
