Jose Izquierdo has now been granted his work permit and subject to international clearance coming in, he could potentially debut against Leicester City.
The 25 year old Colombian international is a left sided player and Brighton have today received confirmation from the FA that a work permit has been granted.
Last week Izquierdo agreed terms on a switch that sees him coming in from Belgian side Club Brugge and the deal is reportedly worth around the £16million mark.
Manager Chris Hughton said at the time.
‘Jose is someone we have been aware of for sometime and has been one of the stand-out players in the Belgian league over the past three year. He’s been an exciting player for Club Brugge and in the season he helped the club win the title in 2015-16 he was also Belgium’s Player of the Year. Jose has good experience with almost 250 senior games in both Colombia and Belgium, and has played in the Europa League, Champions League and international football, having made his debut for his national team this summer.’
As long as his clearance passes in time he could be in the match day squad for Leicester this weekend and you would expect that paperwork to be in by Friday latest really.
