Vital BHA take a look at some of the rumoured transfer targets of Gus Poyet
The January transfer window is wide open for all and sundry to go wild, but the market seems pretty inactive at the moment.
Although Gus Poyet and Tony Bloom have stated they don`t like the January window, Brighton were quick off the mark in signing Plymouth winger, Craig Noone for £300,000.
Will Noone be the only arrival during January? We have scoured the rumour mill and gossip columns to see who Gus might be targetting to bring to Withdean before the window slams shut.
Ryan Harley (Exeter City, Midfielder)
Brighton have already had two bids turned down according to Exeter Chairman, Steve Perrymen. Poyet is having a look at Harley, who has impressed this season, weighing in with 11 goals and 7 assists.
He is seen as the heartbeat of the Exeter team and the creative spark that is the basis of Tisdale’s attacking football style.
Robbie Willmott (Cambridge United, Midfielder)
Willmott is a midfielder having a brilliant season in the Blue Square Conference. He progressed through their youth set up and has been instrumental in Cambridge United’s season from midfield.
The 20 year old has set up 8 goals, but impressed further still by scoring 9 times from the wing.
Gaston Ramirez (Bologna, Midfielder)
It is rumoured that Gus has flown out to Italy to see Ramirez play, and inquired about bringing the fellow Uruguayan to The Albion on loan for the rest of the season.
Ramirez is young at 20, and is a creative midfielder who plays in the hole behind the attackers. He hasn’t featured much this season, but has scored 3 goals for the Italian club.
Charlie Austin (Swindon Town, Striker)
Gus keeps on saying he needs a prolific goal scorer to spearhead a push to The Championship. Swindon’s Charlie Auston fits the bill, and has been subject to much speculation about leaving Swindon.
He has scored 17 goals already this season, and was prolific ever since his jump from non-league two years ago.
