Brighton are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Anthony Knockaert in the three nil victory over Nottingham Forest at the weekend at the Amex Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Knockaert was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘The EFL weekend got under way in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Friday night, and Knockaert was the star of the show as Brighton eased to success against Nottingham Forest. The winger scored the first and continued to light up the Amex throughout the 90 minutes as the Seagulls ran out 3-0 winners.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Knockaert for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Jak Alnwick (Port Vale), Elliott Johnson (Barnet), John Egan (Brentford), Jamie Turley (Newport County), Ryan Jackson (Gillingham), Brennan Dickenson (Colchester United), Conor Hourihane (Barnsley), Anthony Knockaert (Brighton), Tammy Abraham (Bristol City), Rudy Gestede (Aston Villa), Kieran Agard (MK Dons).
